Students are eligible to be considered for admission to the Associate Degree Nursing Program only after completion of I. Sc. or 10+2 systems with biology or equivalent examination of Higher Secondary Council. Application form for the ADN program is available from the SION’s Office Chhetrapati, Dhalko, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Applications are considered for the fall semester (received by March 1) or until the class is filled, and for the spring semester (received by October 1), or until the class is filled. Applications received after the deadline will be processed on a space availability basis. The Student Selection Committee will evaluate each applicant’s academic history, performance in the entrance examination and select those applicants who are the most academically qualified. Admission to the program is limited and completion of eligibility criteria does not ensure admission into the program.

Admission will be based entirely on the merit as judged through entrance examination comprising of multiple choice questions in mathematic and science and short essay writing on English. On the basis of entrance performance, first list of merit will be published, and an interview will be carried out by the student Selection committee and a final list of selected students’ will be published. No syllabus for the entrance examination has specifically prescribed by SION.

Centre for Entrance Examination will be in SION’s office at Kathmandu. This will be indicated in the Admit Card.

The Entrance Examination will be of three hours duration and will have one paper consisting of multiple choice questions and short essay writing. The language of entrance examination will be in English.

  Applicants are eligible to be considered for entrance examination who has:


 1. Meet the University requirements for proficiency in English, reading and mathematics.
 2. Meet the Pre-College Curriculum requirement (I. Sc. Or 10 + 2 with Biology or equivalent examination).
 3. A minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2 from 4 basis or 50% aggregated.


 
A copy of the prospectus cum application form can be obtained from the SION Office Chhetrapati, Dhalko, Kathmandu, Nepal by making a non-refundable payment of NRs 500.00

The candidate must fill in the application form in his/her own handwriting. Capital letters to be used where indicated. Candidates are strongly advised to deposit or collect documents in person.

Entrance Examination Fee: Entrance Examination Fee should be paid in cash at the time of application.
The Examination Fee is NRs 1000.00.


1. Duly filled in application form.
2. Four recently taken passport-sized photographs.
3. Attested copy of mark sheet, character certificate and migration certificate of Matriculation or SLC or      equivalent examination.
4. Attested copy of Citizenship Certificate.
5. Attested copy of mark sheet, character certificate and migration certificate of I. Sc. or 10+2 system or      equivalent examination.
6. Attested copy of equivalent certificate, if the candidate is from foreign School / University.

Students must note that they should show their original certificates at the time of application and bring them during interview and admission, if selected.


All selected students must undergo medical examination by a Medical Board set up by the Institute. Certificate for fitness are as per the protocol set up by the Board. In case of further investigation, the Board may refer the subject to the other relevant institutions. All medical expenses must be born by the candidates. If, any candidate found medically unfit, he/she will not be admitted and waiting list candidate will be announced for admission.

The successful candidates along with their parent(s) are required to report to the office of the Program Manager with all their necessary documents for completing admission formalities. Candidates desiring to leave the course any time after completion of the admission process will not be refunded.
