Students are eligible to be considered
for admission to the Associate Degree Nursing Program only
after completion of I. Sc. or 10+2 systems with biology or
equivalent examination of Higher Secondary Council. Application
form for the ADN program is available from the SION’s
Office Chhetrapati, Dhalko, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Applications
are considered for the fall semester (received by March 1)
or until the class is filled, and for the spring semester
(received by October 1), or until the class is filled. Applications
received after the deadline will be processed on a space availability
basis. The Student Selection Committee will evaluate each
applicant’s academic history, performance in the entrance
examination and select those applicants who are the most academically
qualified. Admission to the program is limited and completion
of eligibility criteria does not ensure admission into the
program.
Admission
will be based entirely on the merit as judged through entrance
examination comprising of multiple choice questions in mathematic
and science and short essay writing on English. On the basis
of entrance performance, first list of merit will be published,
and an interview will be carried out by the student Selection
committee and a final list of selected students’ will
be published. No syllabus for the entrance examination has
specifically prescribed by SION.
Centre
for Entrance Examination will be in SION’s office at
Kathmandu. This will be indicated in the Admit Card.
The
Entrance Examination will be of three hours duration and will
have one paper consisting of multiple choice questions and
short essay writing. The language of entrance examination
will be in English.
